The new Samsung Galaxy S8 having IRIS Scanner to unlock the phone but unfortunately, even IRIS scanner can be hacked. Now it’s not that publicly entering your passcode.
According to German Hacker, they found a way to bypass the phone’s lock screen. So Samsung s8 iris scanner is not completely foolproof. The iPhone fingerprint sensor was also hacked by the same group previously, Chaos Computer Club.

According to groups of Hacker, you will need some widely available accessories.
1) A high-resolution Photo of the victim.
2) A Laser printer to crop their eyes.
3) A contact lens to emulate curvature of an eye.
The picture can be taken at medium range and is the best shot in night mode, as the Galaxy S7 iris scanner works with an infrared light. When the print was held up to the smartphone, the S8 unlocked.
While the Galaxy S8 is highly impressive device but the poor placements and design of its fingerprints sensor damages the user experience.
Dirk Engling, The spoke person of the German group hacker says, “The security risk to the user from iris recognition is even bigger than with fingerprints as we expose our irises a lot,”
He previously hacked the iPhone 5S fingerprint sensor using photos of a glass surface. “Under some circumstances, a high-resolution picture from the internet is sufficient to capture an iris.”
It’s a good reminder that while phones like the Samsung Galaxy S8 offer numerous ways to secure your phone — a traditional passcode, a swipe pattern, a fingerprint scan, facial recognition, and more.
However, this could push Samsung to refine its iris scanner in time for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date, expected in August or September.
